This summer, on July 5, at 7 p.m., the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Polish maestro Tadeusz Woyczowski, together with an international ensemble of soloists, will fill the Liepāja Concert Garden “Pūt, vējiņi!” with operatic masterpieces that have delighted music lovers worldwide for centuries.
Love, passion, and dramatic twists of fate will come to life in unforgettable melodies from the legendary operas of Georges Bizet, Giuseppe Verdi, and Giacomo Puccini.
The first part of the concert is dedicated to Georges Bizet’s Carmen—one of the most frequently staged operas in the world. From the very first notes of the overture to its dramatic finale, we will immerse ourselves in Carmen’s fateful story. The charismatic and independent Carmen, the ambitious toreador Escamillo, and the love-torn Don José will unveil their emotions, as well as the destructive force of passion and jealousy.
The evening will continue with the most striking arias and ensembles from the operas of Giuseppe Verdi and Giacomo Puccini.
From the emotionally charged moments of Don Carlo, La Bohème, Tosca, and Rigoletto, each piece will unfold as a tale of despair, hope, and triumph. This will be a night full of unexpected twists and heart-wrenching beauty.
On stage, under the baton of the legendary Polish conductor Tadeusz Wojciechowski, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will be joined by a dazzling ensemble of soloists—Gabriela Leguna, Magdalena Idzika, George Oniani, and Rihards Mačanovskis.
Opera by the sea will become a living, breathing story that, with its power and emotion, will take the audience on an unforgettable musical journey.
