Liepāja Symphony Orchestra is announcing an open competition for:

CONCERTMASTER OF CONTRABASS GROUP position

The competition will take place at the Liepāja concert hall “Lielais dzintars” (at Radio iela 8, Liepāja) on 24 November 2026 at 14.30.

Requirements for the Applicants:

• A professional higher education qualification in music with a specialization in contrabass.
• Previous orchestral experience.
• Availability to work in the LSO principal employment.

Major duties:

• Prepare and perform the double bass section parts to a high artistic standard.
• Ensure high-quality performance of the contrabass section.
• Comply with work schedules and orchestral personnel requirements, as well as the internal regulations of the LSO.
• Maintain and further develop individual professional skills throughout the term of the contract.

Monthly salary for the full-time job is EUR 1850 before taxes stipulated in the rules and regulations of the Republic of Latvia.
