The closing concert of the Star Festival will be broadcast live
The closing concert of the Liepāja 400th Anniversary International Star Festival will also be available to watch this Saturday, March 22, at 6 PM via free live video on the website of the Liepāja Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars”.
Contemporary chamber music at the Stars festival
In addition to large-scale concerts with the participation of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, the Stars festival program, as usual, also includes specially selected chamber music that will highlight the finest nuances of contemporary sounds.
The Star Festival in Liepāja's 400th anniversary
From 8 March to 22 March, the Liepāja International Star Festival will shine for the 33rd time, this time in the spirit of Liepāja City 400th anniversary and, in honor of the festival's origins, a special role will be devoted to piano music.
In April oratorios by Jančevskis and Kancheli
On April 12, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and the State Academic Choir “Latvija” under the direction of conductor Māris Sirmais will perform Jēkabs Jančevskis’ oratorio “From the Land of the Letts” and Giya Kancheli’s “Styx”.
Grieg, Mendelssohn and Hübler to be performed in Rundāle
Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Guntis Kuzma, will perform music by Edvard Grieg, Felix Mendelssohn and Heinrich Hübler in the White Hall of Rundāle Palace on 2 August at 19:00.
Magnificent musical adventure by Raimonds Pauls is expected
As usual, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra is expected to perform a grand concert at the peak of summer. This time, on August 23, the orchestra invites you to a special concert dedicated to the music of maestro Raimonds Pauls in two concerts at the Liepāja Concert Garden “Pūt, vējiņi!”.
Star Festival will feature a unique Austrobrazilian duet
On March 14, in the Star Festival deeLinde, an Austrian cellist and singer will perform together with a Brazilian guitarist, trombonist, composer and conductor Emiliano Sampaio, creating an exotic and exciting musical mix.
Daniel Müller-Schott will perform at the Stars Festival
Liepāja Symphony Orchestra announces the distinguished cellist Daniel Müller-Schott as the featured soloist for the opening concert of the Liepāja International Star Festival.
At the Star Festival three pianist duos will play in one concert
In March 2025 the Liepāja International Star Festival will shine bright for the 33rd time already, this time it will be held in celebration of Liepāja City 400th anniversary and a special place in this Festival will be dedicated to piano music.
Fantasies and poems of Romantic era to be performed
On February 15 the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Normunds Šnē, will delight the audience with the symphonic fantasies and poems by the most prominent composers of the Romantic era.
