The closing concert of the Star Festival will be broadcast live

The closing concert of the Liepāja 400th Anniversary International Star Festival will also be available to watch this Saturday, March 22, at 6 PM via free live video on the website of the Liepāja Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars”.

At the end of the Liepāja 400th Anniversary Star Festival an ambitious opera gala concert is going to take place at the Lielais dzintars Concert Hall, where the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, the State Academic Choir “Latvija”, Liepāja choirs and soloists will meet on one stage.

Sara Cortolezzis is one of the brightest rising stars in Italian opera houses. The dazzling soprano has won numerous prizes in several international competitions, including the 1st prize “Carlo Bergonzi” in 2022 and the special prize “Renata Tebaldi” for the best female voice at the 58th Voci Verdiane International Singing Competition in Busseto.

The closing concert of the festival will also feature both in Georgia and in Europe highly regarded Georgian tenor Irakli Kakhidze, as well as Romanian baritone Bogdan Baciu, whose rich voice and dramatic talent has gained recognition in opera houses all across Europe.

The opera gala concert will feature arias, duets, ensembles and overtures from operas by Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Vincenzo Bellini and Pietro Mascagni, offering the audience both popular and not so often performed compositions.

Ainārs Rubiķis will be the one behind the conductor's desk.

The 33rd Liepāja International Stars Festival is supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, the State Culture Capital Foundation, the Liepāja City.
