Austrobrazilian or Brazilianaustrian: One practices yodeling, the other masters the intricacies of Brazilian rhythms. She hails from the Styrian countryside; he comes from the metropolis of São Paulo. She plays classical and folk music; he plays jazz and choro. Cellist and singer DeeLinde and guitarist and trombonist Emiliano Sampaio have climbed mountains together and trekked through the Brazilian rainforest, teaching each other how to cook and learning each other’s language. The result is folk music at its finest!
“Absolutely stunning music, sophisticated compositions and arrangements, beautifully played and sung by Linde and Emiliano. The artistic depth and honesty they display and the clever juxtaposition of alpine folklore and Brazilian musical traditions prove once again that music really is a universal language,” this is what jazz composer, educator, and critic Ed Partyka says about the performance of these musicians.
The duetof these two versatile and experienced musicians will be influenced by Brazilian music, Austrian folk music, jazz and classical traditions, creating a rich and harmonious variety of world music.
