On 15 December the Rundāle Palace will once again come alive to the sounds of classical music. Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and Lithuanian conductor Modestas Barkauskas will perform a magnificent classical concert program at the White Hall of Rundāle Palace. Opera singer Gunta Gelgote will adorn the concert with her sophisticated soprano.
The excellent interaction of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra with the acoustics of the Rundāle Palace White Hall will delight the audience in Joseph Haydn's Symphony No.6 “Le Matin”. This music piece is known for its liveliness and dynamic contrasts, illustrating the dawn of a new day. This work is a testament to Haydn's instrumental genius and promises a captivating symphonic music experience.
Gunta Gelgote's vocals will stand out in Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's masterful composition “Exsultate, jubilate”, as well as in Franz Schubert's beautiful and emotional songs, such as “Du bist die Ruh”, “Gretchen am Spinnrade” and “Ellen's Gesang (Ave Maria)”.
The audience will also have the opportunity to travel to sunny Italy in mid-December for a moment, thanks to Franz Schubert's “Overture in the Italian Style”, known for its lyrical melodies and rhythmic vitality, reflecting Italy's rich musical traditions and cultural heritage.
The music played by the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra in the White Hall of the Rundāle Palace is always a celebration of eternal beauty, an inexhaustible source of joy and spiritual light.
