Orchestra will be broadcasted on HarrisonParrott’s platform

On Friday 14 May 2021 at 8pm, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will celebrate the end of the 140th anniversary season with a live concert stream from the Great Amber concert hall in Liepāja, Latvia. It will be available on the streaming platform Virtual Circle of the prestigious classical music agency HarrisonParrott. The Orchestra and its chief conductor Gintaras Rinkevičius will be joined by the brilliant pianist Vestard Shimkus.

“Our 140th concert season has come at a particular time that presents us with brand new ways to reach the audience. The end of this season will be special, as we are invited to live-stream on a digital concert platform created by one of the world's leading classical music management agencies HarrisonParrott. It would be a sin not to accept this agency's offer. So, we will try to conquer the international music arena!” says Uldis Lipskis, the leader of the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra.

The live-streaming and digital content platform Virtual Circle was created last year by the experienced British agency HarrisonParrott in cooperation with eMusic Live. This new platform for classical music and the arts not only provides audiences with a ‘concert look and feel’ with engaging interactive features, but also in-platform promotional opportunities for artists, something which is not offered by any other digital concert platforms, these include high-resolution album downloads, ticket bundles, and action buttons directing audiences to additional content.

The Orchestra will mark the closing of their 140th season by performing truly romantic and ethereal music. Rachmaninov's Piano Concerto No.4 is the least played of all his piano concertos and reveals a rather unusual influence of jazz and 20th-century modernists on the creative work of the romantic composer. Brahms' Symphony No.1, on the other hand, captivates with its tragic but at the same time noble sound.

Ticket prices starts at 10 EUR with the addition option to donate. The event will also offer ten VIP tickets priced at 49 EUR for a post-concert group Zoom call with the pianist Vestard Shimkus.
