After the huge success of the concert programme “Mārtiņš Brauns. A song about the game” in Liepāja, which received public and critical acclaim, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra invites its listeners to unforgettable musical nights in Cēsis, Rēzekne, Jelgava and Ventspils in November 2025.
In November 2025 the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Andris Veismanis, together with soloists Renārs Kaupers, Daumants Kalniņš and Ieva Kerēvica, will perform both poignantly melancholic and ironically youthful songs that have captured the hearts of many, such as “Dziesma par spēli”, “Daugaviņa”, “Dzied’ ar mani tautu meita”, “Es nesatiku”, “Lielais Alberts”, “Mīla ir kā uguns”, “Mūžīgā pilsēta”, etc.
The symphonic arrangements masterfully crafted by Emīls Zilberts reveal the versatility of Mr.Brauns’ creative work, intertwining popular music with nuances of academic music and inviting on a fascinating journey into the world of music written by the legendary Latvian composer.
The concerts “Mārtiņš Brauns. A Song about the Game” held in Liepāja were widely acclaimed and were nominated for the autumn vote for the prestigious Latvian Public Media Annual Award in culture “A Kilogram of Culture 2024” and won the Audience Choice Award in the “Event” category.
