At the height of summer, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra invites you to a special musical event at the “Pūt, vējiņi!” open-air concert garden, where composer Jānis Lūsēns will lead listeners into the broad zodiac of his music.
Under the baton of conductor Andris Veismanis, the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will take the stage alongside a brilliant ensemble of soloists – Zigfrīds Muktupāvels, Aija Vītoliņa, Annija Putniņa, and Raimonds Celms.
The musical soundscape will be enriched by an instrumental group: Aivars Gudrais (guitar), Jānis Lūsēns Junior (bass guitar), and Harijs Gūtmanis (percussion), with the composer himself at the keyboards.
The program will feature both lyrical, light-filled ballads and emotionally powerful, rhythmically dynamic pieces set to the words of poets Māra Zālīte, Pēteris Brūveris, Plūdons, Imants Ziedonis, Guntars Račs, and Jānis Poruks.
This two-part concert will unite beloved melodies from theater productions, legendary compositions by the group “Zodiaks”, and several musical surprises.
The symphonic arrangements created for this program by Emīls Zilberts will give Lūsēns’ music a new, unprecedented sound. Zilberts’ refined orchestral sense has previously made Liepāja’s summer concerts – “ImKa and Kaspars Zemītis”, “Mārtiņš Brauns. Song about the Game”, and “Raimonds Pauls. Liepāja Summer” – into truly special musical experiences.
