Liepāja Symphony Orchestra
Conductor Atvars Lakstīgala

While not actually travelling to Austria but staying right here, at Cēsis Concert Hall,  Liepāja Symphony Orchestra under the baton of conductor Atvars Lakstīgala will nevertheless conjure up the musical ambience of Vienna with the help of the luxurious musical themes from Die Fledermaus operetta by Johann Strauss ‒ once the Music Director of the Royal Court Balls but forever the Waltz King, arias from the Samson and Delilah opera by Camille Saint-Saëns, the Flower Duet from Léo Delibes’ opera Lakmé, Pablo de Sarasate’s gypsy airs, and Neapolitan songs.

Like a colourful and relentless musical cascade, these classical ‘hits’ will follow each other performed by the virtuoso violin player Paula Šūmane, opera soloists Ieva Parša, Ilze Grēvele-Skaraine and the young talent that is Mariss Lakstīgala, soloist at Riga Cathedral Boys Choir. The passion and lively spirit of this music are sure to strike a chord with everyone in the audience.
