Liepāja Symphony Orchestra is announcing an open competition for the CONCERTMASTER POSITION OF THE FLUTE GROUP.

The competition will take place at the concert hall “Lielais dzintars” (at Radio iela 8, Liepāja) on 28 August 2024 at 13:00.

Requirements for the Applicants:

  • Professional music degree in flute performance.
  • Experience with working in an orchestra.
  • Ability to work in the main job with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra.

Main job duties:

  • To prepare and play orchestral pieces of the flute section at high artistic quality.
  • To ensure the quality of work of the flute section.
  • To adhere to the work plans and structure, as well as other internal regulations of the LSO.
  • To maintain and to improve his/her individual mastery throughout duration of the contract.

Monthly salary for the full-time job is 1850 EUR before taxes stipulated in the rules and regulations of the Republic of Latvia.

7. F. Mendelssohn – Symphony No. 4;
8. S. Prokofiev – Peter and the Wolf (op. 67);
9. M. Ravel - Bolero;
10. M. Ravel - Daphnis and Chloé;
11. G. Rossini - William Tell;
12. C. Saint-Saëns - The Carnival of the Animals.
