The unique amber sound of the Orchestra has originated in a unique place at the Baltic Sea – in Liepāja.


The Danish conductor Frans Rasmussen is a pianist and teacher (piano, music theory and orchestra conducting) at the Royal Danish Conservatory of Music (1965-1976). He is professor in conducting from 1976-2003.

Frans Rasmussen has conducted all of the Danish orchestras (also Royal Danish Theatre, Danish National Opera) and has made many CD-recordings.Rasmussen conducted in all of Europe, in Africa, North America and Asia. He is the first guest conductor at Ho Chi Minh City Ballet and Symphony Orchestra.

In 1986 Rasmussen is nominated by EBU (Europe Broadcast Union) as the conductor of the year.
