The unique amber sound of the Orchestra has originated in a unique place at the Baltic Sea – in Liepāja.
On 29 December at 6 p.m. and 30 December at 7 p.m. in Liepāja Concert Hall “GREAT AMBER” Liepāja Symphony Orchestra invites to magnificent New Year’s Eve concerts, presenting world famous film music in rhythms of jazz with popular Latvian singers.
“We will journey to the world’s greatest factory of dreams – Hollywood, to enjoy legendary film music hits,” invites concert director, Daile Theatre actor Gundars Silakaktiņš who will also be the conferencier of the concert in “GREAT AMBER”.
Aminata, Dināra Rudāne and Ralfs Eilands with Liepāja Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jānis Ivuškāns will perform many popular melodies from films The Star is Born, Skyfall, Moulin Rouge, The Bodyguard and many others, originally performed by such famous actors and musicians as Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, Adele, Nicole Kidman, Whitney Huston, Justin Timberlake, Queen, and Aerosmith.
“It was a real challenge for me to create this programme because I had to arrange music that existed already in very good arrangements originally. I spent a lot of time considering and experimenting in order to understand how I can make this music different – what I can contribute,” comments Jānis Ivuškāns, a trumpeter of Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and leader of the Melngailis School Big Band.
Tickets to the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra concerts can be purchased in all Box-Offices of “Biļešu paradise” and at www.bilesuparadize.lv.
