Ticket sales are open for the 26th Liepāja International Stars Festival, which will take place from 3 to 24 March at Liepāja Concert Hall "GREAT AMBER". It is one of the most notable culture events in Liepāja, renowned throughout Latvia. The seven festival concerts organised by the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will feature outstanding artistic personalities and well-known musical collectives.

"Our festival has retained the form of the Piano Stars Festival and will once again present a constellation of piano performance stars in full spectrum of generations. During festival the stage will belong to the diamonds of pianism faceted at Emīls Dārziņš Music School, a young competition lion ‒ the winner of the Grand Prix of Jāzeps Vītols International Piano Competition Alexander Kashpurin, musicians at the peak of their career ‒ Vestards Šimkus and Reinis Zariņš, and the unsurpassed Latvian legend ‒ Raimonds Pauls. Along with the pianists the audience will be treated to the performance of an outstanding cellist from Russia ‒ Rustem Khamidulin, the leader of "Mozarteum" of Salzburg ‒ violinist Frank Stadler, virtuoso Tomoko Kiba on the Japanese instrument shô, world renowned trumpet player Sergey Nakaryakov, the authority in music life Orests Silabriedis and Agnese Egliņa's Chamber Ensemble, the popular Klaipeda Chamber Orchestra, and world-admired State Choir "Latvija"," Uldis Lipskis, LSO Board member, presents the guests of the 26th Liepāja International Stars Festival.

"The heart of the festival ‒ Liepāja Symphony Orchestra ‒ will shine brightly under the batons of masterful conductors Lutz Koehler, Māris Sirmais, Atvars Lakstīgala, and its Artistic Director and Principal Conductor Gintaras Rinkēvičius.
Above all, however, we invite you to immerse yourselves into the enigmatic realm of brilliant music by the above listed excellent musicians and to yield to its inspiring gravitational field. Haydn, Beethoven, Dvořák, Bartók, Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov, Britten and Gershwin have created the music, which is among the highest human achievements. In the new programme with Raimonds Pauls and in the chamber music concert commemorating Pēteris Plakidis the audience will hear true and intransient musical treasures of our nation."
