The unique amber sound of the Orchestra has originated in a unique place at the Baltic Sea – in Liepāja.
On 27 April at 10 am, 12 am and 2 pm in the Concert Hall “GREAT AMBER” Liepāja Symphony Orchestra, Egīls Šēfers and composer Rihards Dubra invite children, young people and their parents to concerts to discover the secrets of creation of music.
“Secrets of Creation” will be an exciting concert during which Liepāja Symphony Orchestra and Egīls Šēfers will introduce the audience to the process of music creation, which usually remains a mystery for the listeners. What inspires a composer to create music? How does music open the door to the emotional world of composer and afterwards -of the audience? What constitutes the process of composing and staging music,from writing the score to conducting an orchestra? These and many more secrets will be revealed to the attendees of the concert.
The audience will have a chance to meet composer Rihards Dubra and to enjoy his beautiful, luminous and joyful Liepāja Concerto No. 3 for piano and orchestra. The composer who is a keen car driver and loves cooking will share his secrets of music creation and Endijs Renemanis will help him implement them into music. Conductor Reinis Lapa and the musicians of Liepāja Symphony Orchestra will ensure that an exciting musical adventure for children as well as for the grown-ups.
“The outstanding Latvian clarinettist Egīls Šēfers will be the concert presenter and ask the composer questions about various secrets of composing. We will learn how music is made, how an idea turns into music, what the process of composing is like. We will be able to see how the numerous notes from the score come alive in music and how Liepāja Concerto No.3 takes flight,” tells the artistic director of Liepāja Symphony Orchestra Atvars Lakstīgala.
During the concert video excerpts from “Three Encounters” staged by Latvian National Ballet and recorded by Latvian TV will be shown.
