The unique amber sound of the Orchestra has originated in a unique place at the Baltic Sea – in Liepāja.
Every year in March musicians and listeners come together to get inspired by the Liepāja International Star Festival, and in the year 2022 the Spring Festival in Liepāja will take place for the 30th time.
In the anniversary year of the Festival together with the Liepāja Symphony Orchestra a number of soloists that are well-known both in Latvia and abroad, such as organist Iveta Apkalna, pianist Reinis Zariņš, flautist Dita Krenberga, will shine on the stage of the Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars”.
Also, foreign music stars and the Latvian National Symphony Orchestra will take the stage in Liepāja at the anniversary festival.
Gintars Rinkevičs, Guntis Kuzma and Andris Poga will take their place at orchestra conductor's stand.
To the listeners’ delight, not only the works of classics like Johann Sebastian Bach, Ludwig van Beethoven, Johannes Brahms, Antonin Dvořák and other composers, but also the premiere of works by Arturs Maskats and Andris Dzenītis will be performed at the 30th Liepāja International Star Festival.
The festival programme includes five concerts in total, four of which will take place in the Great Hall of the Concert Hall “Lielais dzintars” and one – in the Chamber Hall named after Dzintars Jurgelaitis.
