The unique amber sound of the Orchestra has originated in a unique place at the Baltic Sea – in Liepāja.
"Blow ye winds and drive my boat, take me to Kurzeme”, to the place where the Livonian traditions are honoured, where the unique Suiti traditions are rooted and there is strength radiating from the sea and the footprints in the sand. The sea shores of Kurzeme are alight with the last rays of the Latvian evening sun, and a wave washes ashore a piece of amber – we see the universe in this amber and put it in our pocket.
Imants Ziedonis: “(..) I imagine a road, I walk across Kurzeme, across fields seen and experienced until I come across landscapes unseen and I realize I’m walking right out of the the awoken and mundane. The documentary Kurzeme. The dream Kurzeme. God’s land.”
