AMBER SOUND BRASS is a new brass ensemble under the wing of Liepaja Symphony Amber Sound Orchestra. It is a new star in the constellation of Latvian ensembles. It was established by a talented bass-trombon player Maris Zondaks, who altogether assembled twelve musicians from Liepaja Symphony Amber Sound Orchestra, enthusiasts of their own profession. The ten brass instruments are accompanied by a percussions master. The leader and conductor of the ensemble is a musician from Liepaja Symphony Amber Sound Orchestra, Dzintars Jurgelaitis. He not only takes care of a harmonised sound of the ensemble but also makes concerts to be musical, entertaining and educational.

The ensemble is allready loved by Latvian people. Musicians try to select their repertoire as stylistically varied as possible – they play various songs ranging from the early music to jazz, from classical music to dance music. Musicians regularly meet at rehearsals, polishing compositions already known and starting on new ones.

AMBER SOUND BRASS differs from the other ensembles with their sound – it is highly charged and energetic; they also love their instruments, and are enthusiastically involved with their work. During the first concerts the ensemble proved its ability to fill in a rather unoccupied niche of the brass music in Latvia. Future performances are just a matter of time and hard work crowned with new, engaging and fun concerts.
